Technological advancement has seen a dramatic surge in web mapping applications especially crime mapping applications. These online crime mapping applications are important, useful, and cheaper means of collecting with people and analyzing crime data to assist in curbing crime occurrences. The developed countries had recognized the usefulness and importance of crime mapping applications and are now collecting and displaying crime data online using crime mapping applications. The aim of this study is to develop an interactive crime mapping application for Papua New Guinea University of Technology Campus residents to display, view and report crime occurrences on an online web application using their smartphones, desktop computers or laptops.
